Acorn Stairlifts
Acorn Stairlifts was established in 1992, they stared out reconditioning stairlifts and decided to create their own products after stairlift spares became difficult to find. the Acorn Superglide Stairlift was the original design which is still a popular and great value option today.
Safety was always at the forefront of what Acorn believed and they introduced the DC Battery feature to power the stairlifts, so that in the event of a power cut the stairlift would still run. This stairlift battery feature shortly became the norm for stairlifts from that point.
Carelift Services are proud to offer the Acorn Superglide 130 straight stairlift, we offer a free no obligation survey so you can get professional advice on which model is best for your particular requirements from a BHTA member.
The Acorn 130 Straight stairlift is designed for straight indoor staircases. The standard version is the most affordable of Acorn’s three models. It can carry weight up to 20st / 120kg , but a special upgrade will give it a 25st / 127kg capacity if required.
The indoor lift models can also have a perch seat instead of a normal seat, for people who don’t want to have to bend their legs. This is also a great option for very narrow staircases, that can’t accommodate the 29” or so that a normal stair lift requires.

Acorn stairlift warranty
Acorn stairlifts are covered by our 12-month reconditioned and 2 year manufacturer’s warranty. Lots of users are tempted to fix the lift themselves. Don’t be tempted, however, if your lift is still under warranty, as you won’t be covered. If the lift has stalled the reason is generally a flat battery, but it’s best to call one of our professionals one 01603 433603 for any other issues.
Acorn stairlift safety features
Each Acorn stairlift is fitted with a seat belt, so you can buckle up for safety. The seating area has a footrest safety buffer, which is designed to stop the stairlift on the track if there are any obstacles.
The lift won’t start moving if the seat is not correctly aligned. There is also a speed control mechanism and safety gear that will get you up and down the stairs in a smooth and controlled motion.
