Standing Stair Lifts

Standing stairlifts are also known as perch stairlifts, these allow individuals who find a seated position too uncomfortable to travel in  a near standing position, up and down the stairs. The perch seat sits just underneath the user’s waist, allowing the user to comfortably be slightly seated in a near-standing position when using the stairlift.

Perch stairlift seats are very similar to standing stair lifts, with the extra safety features, to ensure the user is completely comfortable and supported for the journey. As the user will be in an almost standing position when they are using the lift, the shortened seat and retractable seat belt provide a stable support area for users to 'perch', 'stand' on. 

If you have restricted movement in the knee or hip joints and finding sitting for short periods of time uncomfortable, a perch 'standing' stairlift is the perfect solution as the user is transported in a perching position.

A standing stair lift or Perch stairlift can also be a useful solution for homes with narrow stairways, where a regular stairlift can not be installed. Carelift Services provide Handicare stairlifts, the Perch seat is available for the 950+, 1000 straight and 2000 curved stairlifts.

Straight Standing Stairlifts

A perch seat option is available for the Companion 1000, and 950+ straight stairlifts. If your stairs do not go around a bend or have to cross a landing, then a straight stairlift will most suitable for your home. Perch seats on straight stairlifts are handy for narrow staircases and if you find sitting or rising from sitting uncomfortable or painful.

Curved Standing Stairlifts

A perch seat option is available on the Handicare 2000 Curved stairlift. If your stairs cross a landing or they curve around a bend, then a curved perch stairlift will be most suitable for your home. Perch stairlifts have a higher and shorter seat allowing the user to ‘perch’ in an almost standing position as they ascend their stairs.
